As regards your specific question: "why Kemet dropped in price at the end of 1998" -- possibly the Asian Crisis which caused most stocks to drop at that time would be accepted by most people to be the contributing cause. bigcharts.com If you are asking why KEM has fallen from say mid '98 to end of '99, that all might be a result of diminished investor expectations (KEM's announcement (6/2/98) that it would reduce its work force "substantially" and that its "rate of capacitor bookings and shipments fell 'abruptly' by about 20% from the levels of the then current quarter." ). Also a wait-and-see attitude of investors regarding the effect of KEM's move from a US facility to Mexico. The real issue (imo) is not what happened THEN, but how is KEM positioned NOW for what is GOING to happen. Imo, KEM is a much stronger company now than then, and its prospects much better, (given that they have recently said that demand exceeds the industry's ability to supply it). Paul Senior
