Ramsey, the market has a way to cheer old news. SUNW was a great company 18 months ago, but not anymore. It is grossly overvalued but so was AMZN NOK and QCOM and WS was in love with those companies and prices just went higher. (others are MOT, LSI, TXN, LU ..... all great companies but at a lower price)

Today WS is into manipulating stocks not really to analyse companies or their product. That is why A, CA, LU, NOK are were they are.

Why has MER downgraded only now AMZN and EBAY ..... go figure.

As to SUNW they do not own any meaningful patent on hardware or technology (and a lot of software they give away for free).Competition is in every field,Servers storage etc. from HWP, IBM who are proven better performers, CPQ proven better cost effective performer and even DELL.

Dell will move big way into servers as that is their last choice. Then there are all those start-ups. WINTEL - WIN2K eats SUNW lunch in low and midrange servers.

That is why SUNW filed a complain with the EU fear of WINTEL and WIN2K

As to price see CSCO who also hit 160 (80) only to struggle now around 60 to 65.If comparing to CSCO SUNW is in much more competitive environment.
