Hi heinz blasnik; Re margin debt and the 20s... Back then, the little people put their money into what were (worse than) hedge funds instead of mutual funds. That is, the mutual funds could (and did) borrow money. That borrowing wouldn't show up in the '20s margin debt figures. -- Carl
