<<< shouldn't dell go up with the fleck away?>>
Despite owning Dell for 8 years, the ST movement of the stock price is beyond my comprehension .It can move perhaps 5 points in a complete vacuum of news and thats usually upward.
A recheck of earnings periods shows that Dell generally goes down around 7 points just before earnings, and up 8 points after earnings so whats happening lately is not uncommon.
Mr Eckhard of Cpq used to come out with some new product
or (plan to go direct) a day or so before Dell earnings
causing the same action we see today. Now the bears are causing problems.
Dell has had the quarters results for 11 days and has not warned based on solid figures.
Even if revenues are down slightly as Kumar speculates, it will make next years Aug better percentage wise.
Summary:
An analyst standing in the Dell train's right-of-way and waving a red flag may cause some passengers to jump off, but its not going to slow the train permanently.
1. A growth rate at multiples (2 to 4)of the industry
2. An ability to produce at 1/2 the cost of competitors
