HCI/AND Biometrics Succeeds In Washington With HNet Technology Facial Recognition
BURLINGTON, ONTARIO--HCI (TSE: HCI) and AND Corporation through their joint venture named AND Biometrics achieved resounding success on Monday, August 7th in Washington. Their presentation tothe United States Government, State Department for Immigration andNaturalization Services passport control was without doubt a breakthrough with some very knowledgeable and skeptical people. "John Sutherland and I were thrilled with the response that we received from these people", says Jerry Janik, CEO of HCI/AND Biometrics. "This government agency's acknowledgement of HNet technology facial recognition as an industry leader bodes well forour presentations to other agencies of the U.S. Government", believes Jerry.
The technology required for the INS passport control system in thefirst phase will include electronically digitized visual identification system. The central data-based biometric reference system is robust enough that it will also house speech recognitionas this comes on stream in the future. Speech and facial recognition together will elevate security in passport control andvarious other applications to a new level.
The current enabling technology used by federal agencies is the first generation of Biometric technology and has very quickly become obsolete. HNet (Holographic/Quantum Neural Technology) is the first to market using the new, more sophisticated, highly advanced and reliable HNet technology. "Our product, facial recognition using HNet technology, has widened the gap significantly between ourselves and the current technology", says Jerry. "Our current and future products using HNet will be available as O.E.M. modules and in due course, as off-the-shelf turnkey finished solutions available through our partner network. We were delighted to have been invited to present facial recognition, they acknowledged that this technology will not only meet, but exceeds their requirements for INS passport control system", Janik adds.
The state department's contracts are designed to establish a high level of security at all access points into the United States. Thesmart access program, to be used by INS, passport systems, will beacquired from one or more vendor teams, and will be capable of, atminimum, providing both physical and logical access control at all entry points both on and off the continental U.S.A.
HNet (Holographic/Quantum Neural Technology) as the next generation of facial recognition is seen as a significant technological breakthrough. The gap between facial recognition using HNet technology and other products currently available, willbe very wide and this gap will get wider and will continue for some time. The State Department was very enthusiastic and wants tobring this technology forward for other programs, particularly given the advances being made in the biometric field of late.
