Michael: that if true it bodes ill for SI who is implicated in those criminal charges... Hey, and I say this with all due respect....let's not go picking on our public gathering place, otherwise known as SI. ;-) SI should not be held accountable, imho, for the views and commentary rendered by the folks who frequent its various forums. I consider SI a public forum. A city square, or a town hall, or a park, so to speak. As such you can't sue the gathering place for the views expressed by the citizens who frequent it. Yee gods...if this was possible...then think of the legal possibilities of such as NYC's central park, etc.!! Whoooosh!! Heh!
'Course...this is not to say SI shouldn't have its "police force." But in this case the force is best utilized via complaints(much like you just generated). So...if the company, person or ID under "attack" HAS lodged a complaint with SI, then to my way of thinking SI would then have to investigate and, if necessary, deal with the unruly citizen if sufficient cause is found. Doing so, and doing so promptly, should negate any possible legal "entanglements."
All of the above is IMHO, of course! Bottom line? It's just too bad some folks are the way they are, as they always end up ruining it for the rest of us.
