Taiwan's UMC Revenues More Than Doubled in Seven Months TAIPEI, Aug 8 (AFP) - Taiwan's United Microelectronics Corp. (UMC) said Tuesday its sales in the seven months to July surged more than three-fold year-on-year to 53.08 billion Taiwan dollars (1.7 billion US). In July alone, the company's revenues went up to a record high of 9.33 billion Taiwan dolalrs, up nearly four times over 2.36 billion Taiwan dollars in the same month of last year. The company, the island's second largest semiconductor maker, forecast its full year revenues at 88 billion Taiwan dollars. The results reflected its merger in January with four other wafer foundry affiliates, it said.
