YEN HOLDS GAINS AS TRADERS DISCOUNT RATE INCREASE quote.bloomberg.com If the BOJ raises a quarter point on Friday, US stock market carnage should begin in earnest the following week. We'll have to see how the dollar (and by extension gold) handle that. (I've been keeping my eye on stocks and the dollar, rather than gold, because the dollar's strength against all currencies is enough to explain gold's weakness completely).
