I apologize for being late to the party, but one element discussed in our local media that may have negatively impacted gross margins (and which some lesser companies have used as excuses for both disappointing revenues and earnings) is the generally tight supply chain in the industry. Stories abound of multiple component resales, each with liberal markups, with the ultimate buyer being CISCO.

Sounds to me like a commitment to reliably service customers and meet delivery dates, which can only serve CISCO well in its efforts to gain new business from existing customers.

It also seems to indicate that until supply reliably meets demand throughout the supply chain, we can not forecast the slowing of the Internet buildout.
