Phish’s Bittersweet Motel Set for August 25 Release
Bittersweet Motel, a documentary on Phish, will be released nationwide on August 25. The eighty-minute film was produced and directed by Todd Phillips and follows the band on the road in both Europe and the United States over the course of a year. “When I sat down and spent some time listening to the musicianship and heard how good these guys are, I became a fan,” says Phillips. “I have a real appreciation for what they do creatively: how they don't have a set list, they're playing something different every night, and you don't know what you're going to get when you show up. It's pretty original in this day and age."
The film premieres on both the east and west coasts at the following theaters: Cinema Village in New York City, Lumiere in San Francisco, CA, OaksTheatre in Berkely, CA, Towne Cinema in San Jose, CA, Rafael Film Center in San Rafael, CA, The Raven Theater and Film Center in Healdsburg, CA and Hoyts Nickelodeon in Burlington, VT. Bittersweet Motel will open in several other locations in September. For a complete listing along with movie clips, pictures and an interview with Phillips, visit bittersweetmotel.com. |
