Thousands of 'deep in the money' puts traded yesterday afternoon. There is no economic value in the corresponding call option meaning that as a spread in itself the play is worthless.... this is commonly used as a way to get long stock. Someone wanted very badly [badly enough to 'give' MM's, the other side of the trade some money] to get LONG STOCK. I don't know why. I assume this news was bad or there is other news coming out? DAK
