NW *OT* - Although I'm a confirmed 'car crazy' other than their products, I don't follow the US auto firms closely enough to give you a very informed opinion. I know they all trade at dirt cheap PE levels and Ford is down, but can't tell you much more. I will tell you that I really am not a fan of domestic iron, I love interesting well made cars, and the domestics just 'ain't it'. Honda is great, Nissan has come out with some new cars/trucks that are looking better and will help them turn around, VW is on a roll also. The only thing keeping the domestics afloat are trucks, they lose or make very little on their car lines. If SUV mania really slows, watch out! I've been reading about this huge payout of around 10 billion that Ford is trying to figure out how to best package, but really don't know what that means to the stock. Personally, I've been following telecom very closely, I know we have discussed Verizon, but the whole group is at 52 week lows. Perhaps the ultimately opportunity will appear with Sept/Oct fund selling, but WCOM, T, FON, etc are getting pretty cheap.
