HAWKEYE GOLD INTERNATIONAL INC. August 9, 2000 Canadian Venture Exchange - HGO Issued - 3,499,276 News Release No: 72 N E W S R E L E A S E RE: CDNX conditional acceptance for non-brokered private placement The Company has received conditional acceptance from the Canadian Venture Exchange for a non-brokered private placement previously announced on July 4, 2000. The private placement consists of 2,380,952 special warrants at the price of $0.21 per special warrant, for gross proceeds of $500,000 (Cdn.). The Company has received $125,000 from the private placement in advance of closing. The Company will utilize these funds to commence work programs on its YANKEE Property strategically situated within the “Homerun Project” - Victoria Island Diamond Area Play. A news release will follow shortly to announce the commencement date and details of the work programs to be performed on the property this year.
