ACT Manufacturing, Inc. Announces New Global Organization

HUDSON, Mass., Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- ACT Manufacturing, Inc.
(Nasdaq: ACTM - news) announced today a new organization
structure in support of the Company's position as a global
provider of high technology contract manufacturing solutions.
Included in this announcement are the appointments of Mr.
Jack O'Rear and Mr. Blaise Scioli to the newly created
position of Executive Vice Presidents of the Company.
Recently the Company announced the appointment of Mr. Robert
Zinn to the position of Executive Vice President of European
and Asian Pacific Operations.

Mr. O'Rear is the Executive Vice President of Operations for
The Americas, where he is responsible for the management of
all manufacturing operations including production, materials,
engineering, test, and quality systems in the region. O'Rear
joined ACT after the acquisition of CMC Industries, Inc,
where he had been Chief Operating Officer since 1996 and
President of CMC's Mississippi Operations since 1994.

Mr. Scioli is the Executive Vice President of Global
Marketing and Business Development and is responsible for the
development and integration of worldwide sales strategies,
including the formation of the Company's new European sales
organization. Scioli joined ACT in 1987 and has held a number
of senior positions including Vice President of Sales and
Marketing. Most recently he was the Vice President and
General Manager of the Company's Cable and Electromechanical
Assembly Division and will continue to maintain those
responsibilities.

Mr. Zinn is the Executive Vice President of European and
Asian Pacific Operations, where he is responsible for the
management of all manufacturing operations including
production, materials, engineering, test, and quality systems
at ACT's European and Asian Pacific manufacturing facilities.
Zinn comes to ACT from recently acquired GSS Array, where he
held the position of CEO since 1994 and President since 1990.

Other appointments within the new organization include Mr.
Gary Barnier, Senior Vice President of Operations in The
Americas where he is responsible for the operation of ACT's
manufacturing facilities in Massachusetts and California, and
Mr. Mike Driste, Senior Vice President of Operations in The
Americas, responsible for the operation of ACT's
manufacturing facilities in Georgia, Mississippi and Mexico.
The company recently announced the appointment of Mr. Jim
Menges as Senior Vice President of Operations for Asia.

Commenting on these appointments, Mr. John A. Pino,
President, CEO and Chairman of ACT said, ``This new
