So for you to state that this person, who is 2 levels below you, is not using correct methods is not correct unless you admit that the markets are manipulated...

Excuse me. When I first came to this humble thread, I admit to knowing very little about gold. When I did my first analysis of gold I determined much of what was posted here was pure crap. People make grandiose statements like the XAU and gold are correlated; or gold should be $700/Oz. By sifting through hundreds of equations, and then developing a combinational lexical equation mapper; I was able to come up with the equations that uniquely determines what the future price of gold is {this is often called a forecast model}. Yes some times it takes grand interventions from the likes of PDG and lower hedge limits to throw a wrench on the upside, but always after the news, the analysis points to the correct value. This allows a person to SHORT the false rallies. BUT nowhere along the analysis does the word manipulation come into it. In fact if one was to consider the effect futures has on gold spot price, they'd soon realize that futures/options & other derivatives have the ability to slow the demise of GOLD by creating a false demand on over shorted positions.

So Hutch, if what its takes is your type of extensive and indepth analysis to do this gold market, then to me that says this market is not yet ready for the public at large.

Wow, finally a great insight into the gold market from you. And YES, you're correct. Maybe the question should be posed:" Why are the public buying gold stocks for?"
a) Preservation of wealth: Won't get that from gold stocks, buy gold.
b) To make money: Well other stocks offer better returns.
c) Speculation: Now we are back to the doom seers.

I think that if you want to buy gold stocks, good for you; I'm happy to take the time to short them when necessary. But you better be prepared to take the PAIN that goes with not being informed. Many on this thread and others are here to pump stocks; that are the nature of SI chat. But to suggest that GATA is offsetting some manipulation into gold markets is a lie. I personally believe that GATA engrosses news and don't reflect the truths that they find on the way.

Hutch
