The price of oil climbed to nearly $30/barrel Wednesday morning after a weekly report confirmed that US crude inventories were hovering near 24-year lows. Measures of inventories from the American Petroleum Institute and the Energy Department hit 282 million barrels and 282.8 million barrels, respectively, their lowest level since 1976. (Aug 9/00)
