The recovery of phospate increased 10%! This should greatly improve an already great bottom line and it will be nice when the bidding wars start for this property.

Wed 9 Aug 2000 News Release
Mr. Richard Bailes reports
Work by Bateman Engineering of South Africa has resulted in an increase in
the designed phosphate recovery in the Farim process plant from 74 per cent
up to 84.1 per cent. The increased recovery will result in a rise in the
projected annual output of phosphate rock concentrate from about 1.8
million tonnes to 2.1 million tonnes at a grade of 32.3 per cent P(2)O(5).
The increased recovery is significant because it will decrease the
estimated production cost per tonne of phosphate concentrate.
Farim is a large sedimentary phosphate deposit located in Guinea Bissau,
West Africa. Champion is aggressively developing Farim and intends to begin
production in the second quarter of 2002. The final report by Bateman will
form part of the feasibility study to be submitted with the application for
the proposed South African financing.
