Re: - Intel STOPPED FAB 16 in its tracks in late 1997 - when the Far East financial crisis hit - and didn't start another new fab until year 2000 (Fab 18 was already under construction). Wasn't this partly due to environmental issues regarding one of the sites? My recollection is that the pause between FAB openings wasn't planned to be quite so extended but a FAB start planned for that time period was delayed repeatedly due to some environmental issue? (not enough water, or something) Dan
