Hi jim kelley; Thanks for replying. Re VIA supposedly postponing their DDR for a year.

I know that being wrong about these little things doesn't bother you, because you do it over and over again. But usually you give up after the first push. This time you are repeating yourself. I do think it's cool that you are posting over and over about it. I'll be sure and collect up your posts and remind you of them when even you have to admit you are wrong. I'm smiling. (G)

As far as buying computers to be obsolete in 6 months, this is what people are already well used to. Look at the Nvidia cards. And what do you think companies are thinking about when they look at RDRAM based workstations right now? The writing is clear on the wall that Intel is in the process of dumping RDRAM, and that means that RIMMs become obsolete first. Instead of trying to unbury RDRAM (in your dreams), you should be praying for DDR royalties.

Here's Paul Engel, famous ex Intel VP and SI poster on the subject (from today):
Intel is now pursuing its own chip set/memory strategy independent of RAMBUS - and independent of any rumored restrictions that prevent Intel from using any memory they so choose. #reply-14191755

Funny that the Intel guys know who that the bus got pushed off the back of the boat, but you guys think you're still staying in a First Class cabin. Look around you matey, that's the briney, and you're walking the plank out into it! Better grab a "stow away" berth. Look down on the engine(er) deck, where able bodied hands are priming the DDR machines. Maybe you can hide under an old pile of oil soaked rope, and stay on the boat for a while. But do try some praying.
