The answer is YES, Edwin, you are allowed to trade Options in an IRA or 401K account!...If you wish, call your broker for an application form and proceed from there. You are allowed to buy Calls and Puts, write (sell) Calls provided you have the underlying security (stocks) to cover them...but sorry, no Naked Options (not even the eye-catching one)...
