Verity Names Todd K. Yamami to VP, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 10, 2000--Verity, Inc.
(NASDAQ:VRTY), the company powering business portals, today announced
the promotion of Todd K. Yamami to vice president, corporate
controller, and chief accounting officer. Yamami, who joined Verity in
1995, most recently served as the company's corporate controller and
is an executive officer. In his new position, Yamami reports to Gary
J. Sbona, chairman and CEO, and is responsible for strategic financial
management, worldwide treasury and cash management at Verity.
"Todd has been with Verity for five years and has played an
outstanding role in Verity's financial successes," said Sbona. "We are
fortunate to have the continued benefit of Todd's excellent
experience, thorough analysis and his financial leadership."
Yamami joined Verity as accounting manager in June 1995, and was
promoted to director of finance and accounting in November 1997. In
February 1999, he was appointed to the position of corporate
controller. Yamami holds a B.S. in Finance and a M.B.A. from Santa
Clara University. Prior to joining Verity, Yamami held several senior
accounting positions at Telecom Solutions and VLSI Technology, Inc.
