So far Carl you have been the one that is wrong.

After all these months of your touting DDR and claiming it is just around the next corner, it is still not here. Not only that you have been claiming rashers of design wins that have never amounted to anything. VIA and AMD seem to be having chipset problems that are more severe than anything Intel has experienced.

AMD crippled its T-bird release with the 75 chipset. VIA does not support the latest I/O and memory technologies with it current chipsets.

Sure Intel is dumping RDRAM. That is why they have come out with the 820E, 840 and of course that is why the P4 and the Timna chipsets are provide RDRAM interfaces instead of SDRAM.

Intel has planned on using DDR-200 for servers for more than a year. Their efforts have been delayed somewhat by lack of complete specifications but I think they will eventually solve the problems.

RAMBUS is now collecting royalties on 15% of the SDRAM which includes DDR and DDR SGRAM and the patents only issued in March of this year. So, the reality is that DDR has a niche market staked out in servers and graphics boards.

So come what may RAMBUS is not dependent on revenues from one type of DRAM.

You seemed to get real touchy about VIA more so than AMD.
Is this the company that is paying your bashers fees?
