Laredo Investment Corporation Finalizes 100% Acquisition of Web Search Technologies Inc.
and Its Intellectual Properties.

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--August 10, 2000--Laredo Investment Corporation
(OTCBB:LRDI) today announced that it has completed the agreement to purchase 100% of the
issued and outstanding shares of privately held Web Search Technologies Inc. and its next
generation Internet information search technologies.
Dr Mengchi Liu who founded Web Search Technologies, Inc. will remain as President and
Director. Dr Liu is one of the world's most influential scientists in deductive databases. He has
been working on the theoretic foundation and implementation of deductive databases since 1988.
In addition to publishing over 60 scientific papers in international journals and conferences, he
has lead a group of M.Sc, Ph.D students and Post-doctoral fellows to develop deductive
database systems since 1995 and released in the public domain three powerful deductive
database systems: ROL; Relationlog and ROL2.
Dr Liu is currently assembling the Board of Directors, which will be comprised of international
industry experts and famous scholars. They will be selected from Dr Liu's many colleagues
established through his pioneering work on advanced databases.
Web Search Technologies Inc., under Dr Liu's direction, is also pursuing the patenting of several
intellectual properties, which apply to the search science technologies currently in development.
By using a set of proprietary and state-of-the-art techniques for data organization, integration
and inference, Dr. Liu is able to embed structures or orders into the Web, making the Web
information more organized and integrated, enabling the next generation Search engine to
outperform existing search engines.
