Skeeter,
re: "one minute, history is your best guide (csco price appreciation). the next minute, history doesn't teach us a thing (about bubbles bursting or deflating).
name one bubble that didn't burst or deflate, that has continued through to today. i believe i asked this already and nobody dared to answer."
Nobody dared to answer because nobody believes this is a bubble. I do not believe this market is a bubble. So your question about bubbles that ended well doesn't apply.
The stock market will crash. And there will be a catastrophic hurricane that hits Tampa, FL. The problem is, nobody knows when, you included. I could move out of the market and out of Tampa, but then I could miss the appreciation in the market and the lifestyle in Tampa. Ten years ago there were just as many people that thought about the market just like you do now, and they chose not participate, it cost them.
Earnings are growing, interest rates are declining, little or no inflation, new technology spurring productivity, and the market PE down 23% in the last 12 months. Sure sounds like a bubble to me <g>.
