"Drilling and Geophysical Update" LK&Z Recommendation maintained!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are pleased to provide the reader with the following update: Starfield Resources Inc. reports that the 10'000 meter drill program has started on August 5th 2000. Target zone is the West zone extension. The first core sample bags (split core) are expected at the Lab of Bondar Clegg in Vancouver around the middle of August. Results should be available two weeks thereafter. In a Press release dated August 9th 2000 the company also reports a NEW GEOPHYSICAL DISCOVERY OF EASTERN FLAT-LYING ZONE FERGUSON LAKE PGE NICKEL-COPPER-COBALT PROPERTY. Excerpts of the Release can be found by clicking on the Starfield logo:

"The Company is pleased to report that S.J.V. Geophysics has completed compilation of data from the Spring 2000 geophysical exploration program. The UTEM survey has extended the West Zone, which contains a current resource of 14.5 million tonnes, a further 2.3 kilometers west and to depths of up to 1400 meters (please refer to news release #14 dated July 26th). The geophysical exploration program has also located a significant new anomaly (the "M" Zone) at the eastern end of the known mineralized horizon approximately 6 kilometers east of the West Zone. This "blind" (does not extend up to surface) anomaly is important because it represents a totally new target in a geological environment permissive to contain massive sulphides

The "M" Zone lies between the original East Zone (4.2 million tonnes) and Anomaly 51 ("Pointed Lake"). The anomaly extends from line 1800E to 3800E for a total strike length of 2 kilometers, averages over 400 meters in width and dips 10 degrees to the north. Geophysicist Syd Visser of S.J.V. Geophysics reports that this new eastern zone is an extremely strong conductor (see accompanying table) caused by an apparent flat-lying source. The intensity of the conductor has now been re-confirmed during the summer 2000 exploration program by a "very low frequency" (3.76 Hz) survey which covered the entire anomaly. The top of the new target zone starts at a depth of approximately 120 meters and dips at 10 degrees to the north on an approximate east-west trend. Drilling will commence on the new "M" Zone discovery within three days to determine both the cause and thickness of the anomaly. Drilling commenced on August 5th, 2000 on the West Zone extension where a 10,000 meter program is planned. A third drill is being mobilized to Ferguson Lake shortly.

LK&Z Opinion
This announcement solidifies our earlier opinion (see archive) of the reserve potential. In addition to these very positive field developments the company has now also secured the funds to complete a comprehensive exploration program with the potential of proving up significant reserves by early fall. We feel comfortable with our earlier share price targets.
