Holding ADAP ahead of earnings. Impressive volume. . . much of which is short-covering. . .some is new investor interest. . .some is earnings speculation. . . . . .terrific products have led to sales backlogs. . .high demand is a good problem, but backorders are a problem nonetheless. At least now we'll get our chance to see how talented management is. . . this is where the rubber meets the road. Other factors indicate management knows what they are doing. So I'm betting they are growing the company in a balanced way.
In the Fuel Cell announcement between GM and XOM, the only one I can see benefiting is BLDP as they are the only pure play automobile oriented fuel cell maker. . . though tiny UQM has made the prototype fuel cell driven engines for GM trade shows in the past. PLUG is strictly for homes and EFCX is cell phone batteries. CPST claims to make hybrid engines, though their name implies larger turbines are their biz. . .but they are so tiny, I doubt they would see much impact from such announcements. HPOW is still trying to figure out what business they are in. . . . MKTY is the CMGI of the fuel cell biz. . . and the smaller companies are just too small to matter much, IMO.
So BLDP would be #1, CPST #2, then the rest would be bought by those buying the sector, not the company. . . or those that just don't understand that these companies are in the same sector but different industries.
But make no mistake. . . .the mania that drove fuel cells, Linux plays, China plays and other momentum plays. . .is dead. The market, the Naz, Tech Stocks, Bulls and the Individual Investor are all VERY MUCH ALIVE. But for the time being, the Mania is history. . . . . but this too will return one day.
