SiGEM announces North American coverage for ePiNG location tracking through agreement with Cellemetry

Canadian Dealing Network Symbol: SGEM

KANATA, ON, Aug. 10 /CNW/ - SiGEM Inc., a leading developer of low-power
wireless location tracking systems and products, today announced that it has
signed an agreement with Cellemetry, LLC which gives SiGEM near ubiquitous
cellular network coverage throughout the United States and Canada for its
ePiNG suite of enterprise and consumer based GPS location tracking solutions.
Cellemetry's operational footprint includes approximately 95% of the United
States cellular coverage and 100% of Canadian cellular coverage. Cellemetry,
LLC, is a subsidiary of Numerex Corp. (NASDAQ:NMRX).
"We are optimistic about the market potential for our ePiNG tracking
systems and services using Cellemetry wireless technology", said Herb Woods,
President and CEO, SiGEM Inc. "This agreement enables SiGEM the opportunity to
become the first company to effectively offer mass market enterprise and
consumer location tracking solutions throughout the US and Canada. With
Cellemetry's far reaching, cost-effective, single protocol coverage, we expect
to achieve widespread acceptance for ePiNG by existing customers of these
networks."
SiGEM developed ePiNG Cellemetry as part of an agreement with Bell
Mobility and recently demonstrated a prototype of its ePiNG technology sending
GPS positioning information over the signaling channel of Bell Mobility's
cellular telephone network. Cellemetry has given Bell an exclusive license in
Canada.
"Cellemetry(TM) Data Service provides low-cost wireless data transmission
that is ideally suited for location tracking applications," continued Woods.
"It operates as a gateway to analog cellular networks to deliver location
requests and retrieve position reports more cost effectively than other
networks and provides the largest cellular coverage of any wireless data
network based on the widespread build-out of analog cellular networks. SiGEM's
ePiNG web hosted tracking software interfaces to a Cellemetry gateway for each
cellular network to track ePiNG devices on that network."
SiGEM will begin offering its proven ePiNG for Cellemetry tracking
products to enterprises with fleets of vehicles in a wide range of industries
as well as tracking for insurance companies for their personal and commercial
insurance policyholders.
"We are pleased to have forged this strategic partnering agreement with
SiGEM providing the ePING suite of products with Cellemetry's unique wireless
data connectivity," said Geoff Girdler, Executive Vice President of Business
Development for NumereX. "SiGEM's innovative approach to location tracking
solutions combined with Cellemetry's cost effective and widely available
network offers the marketplace exceptional new and enhanced opportunities for
machine to machine data communications."
"The combination of SiGEM's industry leading ePiNG feature-rich products
with Cellemetry's low-cost and extensive coverage will set a new standard for
price and performance in the wireless tracking industry," added Woods.
