It is not surprising that retail has slowed down some this summer more than last year. Customers are spending on newer used cars.

As far as sell out to other retail store, the management probably will disagree. The stockholders are not going to recover their investment to sell out when the stock prices are pulled back. So, no one will agree to take a loss permanently at this time. Johnsons and FMR own 30% at a higher cost.

AMES is going to close out the summer merchandise this month advertizing on Channel 7 for friday, saturday sales this week. It will be 50% additional savings for the already discounted summer items. AMES is doing what they do well. Cash is king.

Which retail chain would pay a good price for AMES now? On the other hand X'mas is coming.
