VSE Unit Awarded National Laboratory Contract To Support Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Programs

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Energetics, Incorporated (Energetics), a subsidiary of VSE Corporation (Nasdaq: VSEC), was recently awarded a contract to provide Analytical and Technical Support to Oak Ridge National Laboratory (operated by University of Tennessee/Battelle) in reference to the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EE) Programs within the U.S. Department of Energy. The three-year contract, which was effective as of April 2000, represents potential revenues of up to $5 million, depending upon customer requirements and funding availability. The contract includes two one-year options following a one-year base period.

Energetics has provided technical and management support to EE Programs for the past 20 years. During this time, Energetics has supported program areas such as high-temperature superconductivity, advanced transportation technologies, distributed generation, combined heat and power systems, and the Industries of the Future. Energetics staff has applied its core competencies and expertise to provide technology evaluations, R&D support, strategic planning, and technology-oriented market assessments.
