AreteOutdoors.Com Signs on Veteran Outfitter Adventure Specialists
BOULDER, Colo., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Arete Industries, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AREE) subsidiary, Arete Outdoors announced today the signing of a contract to offer adventure travel from elite outfitters, Adventure Specialists of Westcliffe, Colorado through its website at www.areteoutdoors.com/channel/earth/camping.

a wide selection of trips, including pack trips, wilderness programs, guided climbs, combination trips, and research adventures in Colorado's Sangre de Cristo Wilderness, Peru and Mexico's Copper Canyon. Their specialty is research expeditions. Owners Dr. Gary Zeigler and Amy Finger are archaeologist/explorers and have led more than 60 trips to Copper Canyon and 100 trips to the Inca regions in Peru.
In May, Dr. Ziegler and Cusco-based writer, Peter Frost led an Arete sponsored group of 10 adventure travel participants to investigate the remote Inca ceremonial site of Puncuyoc. Located right in Peru's wild Vilcabamba range, the seldom-visited 16th Century ruins are part of the last refuge of the Incas occupied in their final struggle against the Spanish conquest.
The group located a stone paved Inca road leading down in dense cloud forest and then discovered two worked stone structures that may have been associated with mountain worshipping rituals. Discovery of important Inca ruins by a Ziegler-lead expedition was filmed for a popular international TV program expected to be aired in 2001. Adventure Specialists has two more expeditions scheduled in August and October this year to the Vilcabamba region. They plan a return to Puncuyoc next May.
