The brief news release that I read said 125 mil from financing and other, including investment gains. I think the financing might be thought of as more operational since it is inherent to how they collect their revenue. Anyway .03 (the quoted investment figure) would be more like 75 mil.

Was investment gain only 30 mil last year? That would imply operational growth at more like 60 million, or only 13%.

This operational vs. investment gain debate implies more "all or nothing" than I think is the case. On the plus side, Dell has put a helluva lot of resources into strategic investments and they are getting large enough returns to be almost predictable--hence the guidance. And the cash when realized does provide just as much benefit for strategic reinvestment as the cash from operations. But I also agree that you can't give it full weight--maybe more like 50% of operations. But that's JMHO, and the market may think otherwise--not sure how they're valuing it.
