Cary, >Doom (the down cycle) is lurking out there. How far out is the only question. WRONG Everything is different about the modern world. You only repeat history when you don't pay attention to it. The Fed pays attention. The democrats are now tightwads in practice with the national debt. The republicans gave us supply side which while it doesnt work by itself works well in conjunction with demand side Keynsian models. People, we are ok. If we are not diligent we will have another world war and the semicycle decline will be back. But we are paying attention--government, business, even labor with moderate wage demands and business reluctant to raise prices. The dangers are still there but there is no inevitablity about wars,cycles etc..
