I have question for anyone about security issues around shared bandwidth. Please excuse my lack of knowledge of exact terms but I'll give it my best effort.

Let's say you have rights to a single strand of fiber optic and you wish to divide up the bandwidth on that fiber and market/lease out smaller blocks of the bandwidth to many different customers.

Does this scenario create security issues (e.g. hacking) that would make sophisticated, large companies balk at this concept? Or is the equipment technology in place to prevent security issues.

Thanks in advance for your insight.
