Yup, I noted that yesterday in a side comment. Who cares? I'm not going to tattle on him to SI.

I figure it is like the old rat infested ships and how they would smear a mooring line with putrid meat, leave some food on shore, then watch the rats run down the line and off the ship. Then sail away quick. No?
