I don't understand why Dell was so non-disclosing about the $125m financial gain (except that they tried to lump it into paragraph 1, and stretched suppliers may not appreciate it). It seems to be ~5% of $8b cash divided by 4 = $100m + $25m from net realized and marked-to-market equity gains. If they would disclose the return on cash invested, and the investment portfolio results, analysts and investors could better project what is likely sustainable.
