Jack, I own a couple hundred shares of IBIS, I got in pretty much from the numbers, signicantly declining loss, difficult product
to make - silicon on insulator wafers. I don't know any more than you do regarding these guys, the
decline has, however, coincided with the general decine of the semi and semi equipment segments.
But on the other hand, earlier this year I watched Micrion go from about 14 to 40, only to find an SEC filing that they had a judgement against them awarding $3M worth of stock to KLAC. It appears, from the SEC filing, that
KLA early on bought $3M worth of MICN then through administrative stock manipulation MICN promptly made the stock virtually worthless. It appeares that the large rise was caused by MICN acquiring it's own stock to
meet the requirement of the impending judgement. Since the judgement and payoff of KLAC the MICN's stock has dropped like a rock. What's the message? SOI wafers may be a profitable business; correspondingly there are those who will not hesitate to manipulate. Which is IBIS? I'll watch this thread. |
