BioFiltration Systems Inc. Announces Successful Completion of SWOMI Broadband Wireless Internet Testing in South Carolina -AT 2MBS-

SARASOTA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 2000--BioFiltration Systems Inc. (OTCBB:BIFS) announced today that its Technology group, Beachaccess.net, a wholly owned subsidiary of BioFiltration Systems, has completed successful testing of its roaming broadband high speed wireless internet with measured speeds of 2 mega bits per second or 256 kbps.

Preliminary assessments of the SWOMI(TM) systems performance indicates that it surpasses other companies claimed throughput speeds for broadband wireless systems by over one hundred percent and achieves speeds fast enough to facilitate the use of all multimedia features now in use on high end internet websites. These types of tested features include, voice over IP, two-way video telephony, and a host of remote business to business access features, including remote video monitoring which will be implemented by the parent company to monitor the BioFiltration systems nationally.

One of the more advanced capabilities of SWOMI(TM) is it's unique ability to seek and switch from one cell to another using patented firmware thereby allowing users to seamlessly roam beneath the network without having to reconfigure or reset their equipment as they move between cells. This provides users with unrestricted movement within the roaming network.

The SWOMI(TM) technology further provides customers with the ease of using standard internet protocols (TCP/IP) for network access that provide connectivity equivalent to fixed based T1's at $40 dollars per month for residential customers as compared to the thousands of dollars that are normally charged for this type of high speed connection.

Al Keyser CEO BioFiltrations Systems commented "now that SWOMI(TM) has successfully passed our stringent testing criteria we will begin to implement our rollout strategy immediately to offer SWOMI(TM) to the public. The initial phase of the rollout will begin within our testing area of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It will span the area between Georgetown, South Carolina to Calabash, North Carolina, thus creating the first multi-state roaming wireless high speed broadband network. This will allow out of state customers to access the network directly without incurring long distance or out of lata charges. What this means is that all of our customers can roam freely throughout the two state service area without incurring any long distance telephone charges".

Jay Knabb CEO Beachaccess.net commented, "Although the seamless roaming between cells of the SWOMI(TM) network is distinctly unique compared to other such systems, one of the more interesting tests of the throughput capabilities offered by this technology was that of live video conferencing between our engineers in Myrtle Beach South Carolina, and a remote test location in Portland, Oregon. The test was conducted using a laptop computer while driving in an automobile under the SWOMI(TM) network. The test location in Portland, Oregon was tied into the internet using standard DSL. The results of the test revealed crystal clear video and audio quality immediately making it a functional tool for home and business connectivity. The possibilities that are presented by this technology make SWOMI's(TM) wireless roaming real time audio and video performance more uniquely functional than any other wireless system currently available."

Ken Bourg Vice President of Research and development commented, "We anticipate an accelerated phased rollout of the SWOMI(TM) system throughout the coastal sections of the two state area, followed by a further expansion of the SWOMI(TM) network system to selected geographic regions of Florida. What sets SWOMI(TM) apart from the rest of the competition is it's ability to actively seek cell signals as users move throughout the network. This capability is similar to the methods used by cell phone systems but is the first such practice applied to wireless computer networks that we know of. The patented firmware that facilitates this feature is performing beyond our expectations."
