<I believe that if God exists, He is all of existence. >

So there still seems to be a question in your mind.

What do you mean by 'He is all of existence'? To me, saying something is everything makes it meaningless. If he is the good and the bad, the up and the down, then I cannot move towards him. We cannot gravitate around him.

<I believe that man should strive toward greater perfection, and greater goodness.>

Then you believe in the same God I do. I believe God is that desire in you that believes you should strive toward greater perfection, and greater goodness.

Now we need to define that belief or redefine God, which is the task you have put before us.

I think the problem is how, how do you convey that concept to the masses. If you choose to use parables as the bible, then you will have those who believe Jesus stood by the river bank and pulled countless fish from his lunch bag and fed the masses. Then some will understand that seeing Jesus share what he had with the few needy around him, others in the crowd saw the goodness in that and shared what they had with the needy around them. Before long everybody was fed.

How do you convey a complex idea to the masses without leaving the door open to interpretation and miss use as you have described?
