Felix,

The SEC selective disclosure rules that will go into effect in two months are great; the enforcement end is a little weak. Violators are subject to injunctions and fines, and no investor lawsuits are allowed, though my guess is that that will be challenged in court sometime in the future.

The good and bad news is that now the analysts REALLY won't have a clue when they make their pronouncements. I imagine that they are licking their wounds this morning, trying to figure out how they are going to get info that isn't handed to them. The brokerage houses were 100% against these new rules, for obvious reasons. The advantage they had over groups of individual investors (Intel - SI comes to mind) was inside info.

I think it's a very important decision, and it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

John
