SANDISK IS DEAD LAST!
Shocking report on how Sandisk cards stack up to the competition. Below is a link to a comprehensive report: Selecting a Compactflash card for a professional digital camera.

Read this report and you will find several surprises:

Sandisk is #4 in speed performance behind Lexar, Delkin (Hibachi) and IBM.

The IBM Microdrive is the faster than all three flash cards! Surprise, huh! It is much more rugged than expected and it is 1/2 the cost per megabyte.

With a Sandisk card, there is no way to know what controller you are getting. The newer ones are faster but the user doesn't know if he has the new one or the old one. Who cares about the customer anyway.

Lexar has one feature that distinguishes their CompactFlash cards: the Jumpshot USB cable. The Jumpshot cable eliminates the need for an additional card reader. Lexar incorporates the brains of a CompactFlash card reader into the flash card itself, so the cable only needs to connect the card to the computer. Why didn't Sandisk think of this?

This is an excellent report and I recommend anyone owning SNDK read this. Also if you are going to get a digital camera or memory card, you will want to read this report first. If you do, you will probably not buy an Sandisk card. I damn sure won't. Why should I when I can get better performance from Delkin or Lexar? Please give me a reason other than you own the stock.

This is a sad cometary on Sandisk. I am very disappointed.

Perhaps this has more to do with the drop in the stock price than all the ravings about SEG selling a few shares.

There is the world the way we want it to be, and the world the way it is. This is the way it is. Read it and weep.
