In this interview, CEO Dan Firestone says that expansion into Asia is "currently not on the calendar for 2000 or 2001 at this point":

somera.com

so the afore-posted contract in Thailand possibly indicates that things are moving ahead full steam.

Gotta love the strong profit/revenue development here. There's so much growth and innovation going on in the telecom equipment field at the moment that I'm assuming this is turning over lots of older equipment, which Somera can decommission and resell. And Firestone seems well-seasoned, having apparently built up and sold another company previously in his career.

As for the stock price, I'm assuming this is still undiscovered/overlooked, lost in the pack of fairly recent IPOs, especially because the company name and stock ticker is so similar to successful Scandinavian telecom and recent IPO Sonera (SNRA). So I'm taking this pull back to the $11-$12 range as an opportunity to buy some stock in the company (which is HQed just down the road from me here in Santa Barbara).
