Re: Intel just provided the pricing schedule for P4, and did not mention any delays, so a September release date is being anticipated. The speed grades will be 1.4GHz and 1.5GHz, with the Tier 1 pricing in 1000 unit quantities at $625 and $795 respectively..

If that's correct we should see systems readily available for $2,000 in Q4, right? If that's so, and given those pricing numbers, and the fact that Intel is building new FABs for P3s that won't open until next year, I think we can assume a catastrophe has occurred in the P4 program. Performance must be horrible. It's as though AMD said they were going to start shipping the Athlon next month, and that their new FABs currently under construction were being built to produce K6s next year.
