FLINT, Mich., Aug 11, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Delphi Automotive
Systems (NYSE: DPH) will invest $7.8 million in its Coopersville, Mich.,
operations to begin production on the Multec 3 fuel injector and the Multipoint
Flexible Injection system (MFI).

Delphi will invest $2.2 million for equipment to produce its Multec 3 fuel
injector. The Multec 3 injector is designed to provide competitive performance
and target new automotive and non-automotive customers, said Ed DiEnno,
Coopersville plant manager. Delphi currently supplies electronic fuel injectors
for use on many North American and worldwide automotive engine applications.

"The design flexibility of the Multec 3 injector will allow us to go after new
markets, including other vehicle and non-automotive manufacturers," DiEnno said.

Delphi will invest $5.6 million on equipment for the MFI system. The MFI system
is designed primarily for light trucks and sport-utility vehicles.

"The MFI injector offers improved durability, fuel efficiency and lower
emissions," DiEnno said. "These new products will help us meet tougher emissions
standards."

The business case for making the investment in Coopersville was helped by the
City Council's recent approval of a nine-year, 50-percent tax abatement for the
project. In each of the next nine years, Delphi will pay approximately $66,000
in additional taxes to city, county and other tax jurisdictions.

Multi-national Delphi Automotive Systems, with headquarters in Troy, Mich., USA;
Paris; Tokyo; and Sao Paulo, Brazil, is a world leader in mobile electronics and
transportation components and systems technology. Delphi's three business

Electronics & Mobile Communication -- provide comprehensive product solutions to
complex customer needs. Delphi has approximately 216,000 employees and operates
179 wholly owned manufacturing sites, 41 joint ventures, 53 customer centers and
sales offices and 31 technical centers in 39 countries. Delphi can be found on
