Joan, it was not the same gold. before Chile it was Uruguay's turn...a sign imo that the lease market is getting increasingly desperate. there's no market that is more lacking in transparency...one has to watch out for these small signs...

historically the short end would eventually follow the long end down, as the economy goes into recession. however, i'm not sure if that's what's going to happen in the new era...since there's a mountain of leverage/derivatives thrown into the equation...it's well nigh impossible to gauge what the effect of this will be. traditional intermarket relationships may well have stopped working the way they used to.
