News just out. I guessed it was intend for Monday (Canadian holiday)
Mink International Resources Corp MKM Shares issued 15197877 1997-05-15 close $1.83 Monday May 19 1997 News Release Mr O.L. dela Cuesta reports The following is an update regarding the company's Niaouleni gold project in Mali, West Africa: AIRBORNE GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY Several significant anomalies were identified by the recently concluded airborne geophysical survey conducted by Aerodat of Toronto over the entire gold concession. Some of the anomalies overlap the traditional mine workings in the property. The results of the airborne survey further supports the theory that the many traditional mine workings at Niaouleni could indeed be the surface extensions of potential deep seated deposits in the property. INDUCED POLARIZATION GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY The initial ground IP survey over the Goingoindougou zone was successfully completed by Mink International's geophysical team under the supervision of Geotronics Survey of Vancouver. As earlier disclosed, five important anomalies were identified by ground geophysics in this particular zone. The company intends to conduct in-fill IP surveys between the present lines to better define the new anomalies. The company's geophysical team has also completed surveying the Kankou Moussa zone. The survey was conducted along four lines, each measuring two kilometres long and spaced 200 metres apart. The results of the survey are being interpreted by Mr David Mark, president of Geotronics. So far, two anomalies (measuring 900 metres and 500 metres wide respectively) were identified in one of the lines. Interpretation of the results along with the other three are pending. Currently, Mink's geophysical team (consisting of a geophysicist, a geologist, a geological technologist and some local hires as support) is currently surveying the Libre Plateau and South Niaouleni zones a few kilometres northeast of Kankou Moussa. Upon completion, the team will investigate the anomalies identified by the airborne survey. DIAMOND DRILLING Using the traditional mine workings and the previous trenches as guide, three holes plus one redrill, have been completed so far in the Kankou Moussa and Goingoindougou zones during this season. In addition, one of the anomalies identified by the IP survey was drilled at the Goingoindougou zone. The other IP anomalies there are currently being drilled on a three shifts per day basis. Split drill core samples were sent and are now being regularly dispatched to Goldfields Laboratories in Johannesburg, South Africa for analysis. TRENCHING AND TEST PITTING So far, five trenches averaging nine metres in depths have been completed at the Kankou Moussa zone. Currently, three more trenches are being excavated in this zone to determine the extensions of the 100 metre wide stockwork and the quartz veins that were exposed in the previous trenches and test pits. Panel samples from the Kankou Moussa zone, as well as from the Goingoindougou zone, were sent and are now being forwarded regularly to RTZ's Anamet Laboratories in Bristol, England for assaying. ON SITE ASSAY AND RESEARCH LABORATORY Construction of the assay laboratory building has been completed and the various equipment and facilities are now progressively being installed. Upon installation, the on-site laboratory will allow the company the flexibility to test more material, to reduce assaying costs and to improve the turn around time to get results. Important assays will be forwarded to independent laboratories for checking and/or further analysis.
