Steve, my 48mb SanDisk card is acceptably fast in my Nikon Coolpix 800. Now, I must admit, that this is not my first digital camera - I had one of those cheapie HP 1 megapixel deals at first, probably around March/April. (This was mainly to get pics onto ebay, then I returned the POS to Office Depot). That thing was very slow in pushing pics onto the card, but I would assume that this was more a function of the camera's buffering architecture than the card itself. As you will recall I did install my SanDisk ImageMate USB reader - so I really don't feel that I have any bottlenecks in my utilization of SanDisk CompactFlash cards.

Are you giving up on your investment?

My concern would be for these newer technologies on the horizon like MRAM. However, these are a few years out so who knows what will happen - perhaps SNDK will take a chunk of their cash/stock to acquire an MRAM producer?
