Milo,

I think I'm starting to see what the ANALysts are seeing, a price war is starting. The thing is, AMD is initiating the price war this time. For months we've been seeing downclocked Athlons and Athlons that could overclock to much higher speeds. We've also heard numerous reports of how high speed Pentium parts were scarce. If AMD can produce VOLUME of 1 Ghz parts, what's wrong with selling them for $500 each? Nothing, if you can sell them all and there's a ton of them. I think the first key of how high AMD can go VOLUME in high speed will be how fast the 1.1 Ghz parts show up. I'll also be watching the availability of high speed Intel parts. If the infrastructure can improve, it's going to be a HUGE fall.
