Aug. 11, 2000 (Electronic Buyers News - CMP via COMTEX) -- Intel Corp., Santa Clara, Calif., has delayed the launch of its first Pentium 4 processor, code-named Willamette, until late in the fourth quarter, according to a financial analyst. In a report to clients, Jonathan Joseph of Salomon Smith Barney Inc., San Francisco, said the Pentium 4-originally expected to debut in the third quarter-is being delayed until adequate supplies of the Tehama chipset and Direct Rambus DRAM are available. A Pentium 4 follow-on, code-named Northwood, will debut in the third quarter of 2001 for the mainstream desktop PC, according to Bert McComas, an analyst at InQuest Inc., Gilbert, Ariz.
