Bombardier's Award-Winning Traxter ATV now Available in an Automatic Shift Version

VALCOURT, QUEBEC--True to its mission to provide the most exciting
and innovative recreational vehicles, Bombardier Recreational
Products launches its revolutionary automatic shift Traxter(TM)
All Terrain Vehicle (ATV).

A first in the industry, the Traxter with automatic shift now
features the only electronically shifted constant-mesh fully
engaged gear-drive transmission on the market. This innovative
computer control also allows the driver to override the automatic
mode and to manually shift the transmission.

As of today, the Bombardier(R) Traxter ATV offers three ways of
selecting gears: the original semi-automatic, the footshift
introduced earlier this year and the fully automatic.

All Traxter models are equipped with a constant-mesh fully engaged
gear-drive transmission. "Our experience has shown that nothing
beats the performance of a gear-drive transmission. Without belts
or hydraulic fluids, the transmission offers maximum efficiency,
low heat generation and reliability. This new Traxter with
automatic shift selector is again the result of customer research
and forward thinking product engineering, both of which have
already been recognised by media and customer satisfaction reports
these past two years," declared Alain Brunelle, Vice President,
General Manager ATV.

Since their introduction, Bombardier ATVs have been the object of
praise by the press. Voted "ATV of the Year" in 1999 by ATV
Magazine and "Best ATV on the market" by Popular Mechanics the
very same year, the Traxter ATV, the first entry into the ATV
market by Bombardier was a hands-down winner with the experts.
4-Wheel ATV Action named the Bombardier DS650(TM), the sport model
launched earlier this year, "ATV of the year 2000".

Bombardier Recreational Products designs, develops, builds,
distributes and markets Ski Doo(R) and Lynx(R) snowmobiles,
snowgrooming equipment and multi-purpose tracked vehicles,
Sea-Doo(R) watercraft and sport boats, Bombardier all-terrain
vehicles and Bombardier NV(TM) neighbourhood vehicles.
Snowmobiles, ATV, watercraft and some sports boats are powered by
Rotax(R) engines that are designed and built by Bombardier-Rotax
GmbH which also builds motors for motorcycles and scooters.
