8 Years ago, the Repubs were screaming about the deficit and the debt; all about how unfair it was to pass our debts on to the next generation. Well, we have a surplus, so how come they don't want to reduce the debt? Is it ok to leave to our kids now, cuz now they will be rich because they won't have to pay inheritance taxes? Come on, Reagan and Bush did most of the debt damage, so how about trying to get it back to where it was in 1980. Then,maybe we can talk tax cuts.

Yes, you are right when you say that a cut would be inflationary.
